Solid solutions have been prepared by solid-state reactions. Increasing the solute content of the solid solutions gives rise to sol-
ute-dependent monoclinic distortion of their tetragonal cell. The electrical conductivity and dielectric permit-
tivity of the Bi5Nb3 frame83 frame9M3 frame10O15 frame11 solid solutions and bismuth niobate, Bi5Nb3O15, have been measured at temperatures from 300 to 750 K and frequencies from 1 to 200 kHz.
