SPECIFIC FEATURES OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHERN REGIONS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN THE XX CENTURY (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE KOMI REPUBLIC)

The authors attempted to make a retrospective analysis of industry branches development of the Republic of Komi. The peculiar features of the industrial process in Komi are the possibility of mobilizing the ability of Gulag and its great investing programs. Superindustrialization in the region has led to the destruction of normal functioning of the economic body of the Republic of Komi.
