Аннотация

The dependence of the charge induced at the anode of a flat grid ionization chamber on the grid shielding inefficiency and the mean free path of electrons before their capture by an electronegative impurity is analyzed. The cases of point ionization and ionization in the form of a track of a charge particle from the source located at the cathode are considered. It is shown by calculation and corroborated by experiment that the contribution of the induction effect to the total energy resolution of chambers with a large grid pitch is substantially suppressed, which helps simplify the grid manufacturing technology. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
